CREATING AN ECONOMY WHERE BUSINESS CAN GROW AND HIRE

Support business innovation, cut business red tape, and make Nova Scotia a start-up capital

Nova Scotia is ready to grow. We’re building an economy where business can thrive. How? We’re unleashing the innovative power of Nova Scotians. Our plan has optimism in its DNA. It builds on traditional strengths like agriculture and powers the industries of tomorrow. We’re helping small businesses and tourism. And we’re getting competitive. We’ve cut $10 million in red tape and our Economic Growth Council is helping us cut another $30M. This means people can start businesses and industry can hire, innovate, and grow.

Nova Scotia won’t just be a start-up capital – it’ll be a let’s-get-to-work capital.

Making Life more affordable and equitable for Nova Scotians

$10/day childcare, help for at risk youth, and more affordable housing

For too long, groups of Nova Scotians have been left out – or priced out – of joining in our collective prosperity. No more. Our Party puts equity and inclusion at the heart of everything we do. We made the largest single investment in income assistance. We’re bringing in affordable childcare through a historic, $605 million agreement with the federal government. We’re increasing access to housing by following the Affordable Housing Commission Report. All this means that Nova Scotians will have more opportunity, more support, more chance to succeed.

We believe that if everyone has the chance to prosper, we all benefit.

Ensuring workers have the skills today for the jobs of tomorrow

Improve access to skills training and apprenticeships, launch a plan for life-long learning

As we build the economy of tomorrow, we’re building the workforce of tomorrow, too. Part of this means helping our traditional industries to innovate and adapt – like seeing agriculture and forestry grow more sustainable. It also means empowering youth. We’re encouraging innovation by investing in our universities and community colleges. This means expanding capacity in information technology, green energy and in the nursing and health professions. The jobs of tomorrow are there for the taking – and we want Nova Scotians to be first in line.

A cleaner, greener Nova Scotia by 2030

Affordable wind and solar energy, green public transit, invest in provincial parks

Nova Scotia is beautiful.  We want to protect our province by preserving our environment and promoting sustainability. Others want to talk about the environment – we want to take action.   We’re tackling climate change by cutting emissions. We’re getting Nova Scotia off coal by 2030. We’re making electricity more affordable and sustainable by promoting renewable energy. And we’re protecting our ecosystems, too – approaching our goal of protecting 14 percent of our province as wilderness areas. The time for action is now – and we know it.

Investing in quality care

Build state-of-the-art medical facilities, expand access to mental health supports, rejuvenate long-term care homes, and enhance homecare services

Nova Scotians aren’t numbers. They’re people with voices and lived experiences. And we believe people need quality care with a focus on wellbeing. We bring to health care the same dedication and evidence-based approach we bring to fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. We’re building world-class medical facilities. We’re expanding access to mental health supports. And we’re giving our seniors the respect they deserve. We’ve invested over $1 billion dollars in Long-Term Care. We’re revitalizing LTC to reduce wait times and provide more comfortable homes. We’re there for you, Nova Scotia, and we always will be.
